Columbia Takes Temporary License Management For Footwear Products In China
The reporter learned from the Ningbo inspection and quarantine department that the Ministry of trade and industry of Columbia recently issued a decree that the 4 month import quota permit temporary management measures for Chinese footwear products under the 26 tariff rules will be implemented in August 31, 2008. The total quota will be set at 4 times the average import value in 2006 and 2007, and on that basis, it will float 11.1%.
The decree takes effect 15 days after the date of promulgation, and the measures prescribed by the decree do not affect the actual shipment of the same products that have been exported to Columbia and have entered the bonded area before the date of its entry into force.
According to the statistics of Ningbo inspection and Quarantine Bureau, in 2007, Ningbo exported 6834 batches of export footwear products, an increase of 0.82% over the same period last year. As the developed countries in Europe and the United States have higher requirements on the safety and hygiene performance of shoes and other products, and all kinds of barriers are in place, South America and other markets have become an important market for many domestic enterprises, and also one of the key breakthroughs of Ningbo's foreign trade shoes. To this end, the inspection and Quarantine Department reminded the relevant enterprises that in order to ensure smooth export, we should keep abreast of the specific content of the policy and the application method of the import license, and effectively communicate and consult with the importers in Columbia to seek the most scientific trade strategy.
