Brazil says US cotton supply has lost 2 billion 500 million US dollars.

The Brazil government has made a request to the WTO that the United States provided subsidies to cotton farmers in 1998 to 2000, causing a loss of $2 billion 500 million to Brazil.

Brazil's ambassador to WTO Mr Azevedo said that if the big powers do not comply with the WTO rules without being punished, the credibility of the WTO will be affected.

Last year, WTO supported Brazil and announced that the US subsidy for cotton farmers violated the WTO rules.

Brazil claims that the US subsidy for cotton farmers reaches about 89.5% of cotton output.

The huge subsidies offered to cotton farmers in the United States have been criticized by many countries, including Asian and African countries, who have accused the US of subsidized the reduction of global cotton prices and reduced the income of cotton farmers in these countries.
