Recently, the government of Bangladesh decided to resume the production and operation of 5 jute factories such as Adam Gio.

Adam Ji was founded in 1951. It was the largest jute factory in the world, with 26 thousand employees, and more than 5000 tons of ramie, coarse linen and sacks. It once became the pride of its country and was forced to close in 2002 due to the increasing demand for chemical fiber products.

With the promotion of environmental protection concept, jute products began to regain their lost glory. At the beginning of 2009, the government of Bangladesh began to revitalize the jute industry.

As the market demand increased, the local market price climbed to 2400 Taka. In April ~2010, JMA exported 378 million US dollars in October 2009 (only 156 million US dollars in the same period last year).

Due to poor management, the loss of senior technical personnel, low skilled workers and lack of government support, the jute plant has only 42 factories in 77 countries, and the rest are privatized and most of them have gone bankrupt.

At present, the government has decided to use new and high technology to increase jute yield.
