The government of India has decided to impose tariffs on 28 American printing products starting in June 16th.

India's Ministry of Finance issued a notice on the evening of 15, announcing tariffs on 28 American products, including almonds, beans and walnuts. The list contained 29 products previously, but the announcement removed a shrimp product.

India set up the tariff list in June last year to retaliate the United States tariffs on steel and aluminum for India. India has repeatedly delayed the introduction of tariffs, hoping to advance negotiations with the US side. However, in June 5th this year, the US government announced the cancellation of the treatment of the GSP in India on the grounds that "India failed to ensure fair and reasonable market access to the United States", which led to a more tense trade relationship between the two countries.
